What I have to give to my kids?

18 Dec

Parenting is a learning process for most people. Just like each person is unique, each situation may be unique too. Parents always want their kids to excel in wherever they are. They are looking for ways to provide the best for their kids. Most of the time, they give whatever the kid wants. Sometimes it is challenging when there is a disappointment from any side. As a parent, what we have to give to our kids? Read the rest of this entry »

My religion, my belief, mine- is the best!

07 May

We hear that ‘don’t talk about politics, religion and salary (for men) age (for woman)’. If we do so, it can become a heated argument, sometimes it ruins even relationship.

Most people think whatever they believe is the best. Is that true? Why all these religions and beliefs started? Read the rest of this entry »

Promise yourself- A reminder in life:

22 Apr

I got this poem when I was a child. It is from an inspirational book and I do not know much about this author. I hanged this at my desk in my workplace to remind me about myself in the ups and downs of life.

Festivals- Christmas and Hanukkah are passing…. or just happy holidays?

09 Dec

Religions are paths to God-the Supreme Being- the goodness. God- without shape and form…a hard concept to understand. Primitive man worshiped him in the form of nature. Then in different places, different religions formed to understand God. So Hinduism, Muslim, Jews, Christianity, Buddhism….everything leads to God to promote goodness in human hearts.

Each religious festival has a meaning regardless of the religion, story or myth behind it. Read the rest of this entry »

Goodness and God:

05 Nov

(My usage here is- without quotes God is the actual word; with quotes ‘God’ is the term when it is used differently)

Whenever people talk about God, it seems like an untouchable subject. Some see it as political, advice, religious or crazy. There is even a saying – not to talk about ‘God, age and politics’ between friends and family.

‘God’ is used everywhere, necessarily and unnecessarily in politics, religion, selfishness, curse, and blessing…etc.

When we think about God – our picture in mind is what we believe or hear about ‘God’. Just like when we hear about ‘Christmas’ some think of festival, Santa, gifts, tree, lights, sacrifice, gift of life…as per the individual’s perception, understanding and experience.

Can we change that image about God? Read the rest of this entry »

Paying back!

14 Oct

I know one of my friend who looks after her old mother who has Alzheimer’s. It is very hard for her, but she tries her best. Some people tell to put mother in a nursing home…but for her if she cannot do her best, she won’t feel good about herself. My friend may do it if she cannot handle in any way. But now, she has the resources to do it. She is telling, it is time to pay back for what her mother did. When she had to get up at night, she remembers how her mother had to do that for her!

When I look back in my life, I feel like kids always take it granted that parents do lot of stuff for them. When I became a mother I realized how much I have to thank my mother. When I had my baby with me, it was like I will do anything in this world to protect her. I remembered the incidents my mother was on my side to support, protect and encourage. Then I realized how fortunate I am to have her…I understood the value of having her.

Sometimes we don’t realize how fortunate we are to have mothers. Like everything, we don’t realize the value of something when we have it. I know a woman who said- she is grateful that sometimes her son visits. Sons and daughters, think about your kids…when they grow up, how you want them to be? Be like that to your parents! If you get a chance to pay back, don’t hesitate-go with your heart!
